ARG/US Safety Management System Support (ASOS)®

Running A Safety System (SMS) Was Never Easier

The ASOS Program was designed to assist safety officers in setting up and running a quality internal Safety Management System. With ASOS, you can enjoy the safety and operational benefits of a fully staffed, professional safety office with significant time savings. ASOS allows the Safety Officer to focus on implementing and using the SMS, rather than continually creating material.

Safety Officers are provided with:

  • On Demand Research Services *
  • Customizable Aviation Safety Management System Manuals
  • Computer Based Training Modules *
  • Monthly Internal Audit Checklist and Newsletter
  • Emergency Response Plan
  • Accident Response On Scene Go-Kit *

ARG/US offers two levels of the ASOS program. The Premium program is available to any aircraft operator. The ASOS Basic program is available only to ARG/US Gold, Gold+, and Platinum rated charter operators. Note: An * denotes Premium services, see Subscription Information for more details.

ASOS provides up-to-date safety material and articles for distribution to crews, maintenance and management followed up with ad-hoc research and support.

Complete Aviation Safety Management System (SMS)

Whether you are starting from scratch, or improving your existing SMS, the ARG/US Safety Management System will prove an invaluable resource. This is a complete, ready-to-use safety program which when implemented is both FAA AC 120-92, Industry Best Practices and IS-BAO compliant. This manual alone is worth the cost of the ASOS program. The MS Word document is ready for tailoring to your operation, and contains all the necessary program descriptions, forms, and instructions for a complete Safety Management System. The understanding and implementation of this manual is key to a successful, effective safety program.

The ASOS Safety Wire
Each month ARG/US publishes the Safety Wire, a current events aviation safety newsletter containing informative articles and abstracts on pertinent corporate aviation safety issues.

Internal Audit Checklist
ARG/US supplies monthly, progressive, and in-depth checklists to help you evaluate every aspect of the operations and maintenance functions of your flight department. Taking a small amount of time each month to complete the checklist will serve as a valuable cross check of system-critical functions and helps uncover areas that need revision or improvement.

Computer Based Training Modules *
Internet based learning, designed to be an integral part of your flight department's ongoing safety program. Members can login and select from among the various safety modules available.

Research Briefs *
ARG/US routinely posts current summarized safety developments, important articles and links on safety issues and provides on-line access to our research archives. ARG/US publishes articles based on de-identified aggregated material from the ASRS, NTSB, FAA accident/incident reports, FAA enforcement actions and SDR databases.

Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
The ERP provides a coordinated response plan that can be uniquely fitted to your operations. Expert assistance will be provided by ARG/US upon request to develop plans and arrange scenarios for practice drills.

Event, Hazard, or Topical Research on Request *
ARG/US analysts are available to do the time consuming research needed when safety topics arise. Whether it's following up on details from a safety committee meeting or researching the solutions to a reported hazard, our back office research abilities are at your disposal.

On-Site Safety Audit (Optional)
This process based audit gives flight departments valuable objective insight into all aspects of their operation. Now the industry standard, a successful audit can result in the highest rating for 135 charter operators...The ARG/US Platinum Rating.
